Who thinks there whould be an elite called "Animate Bone Warrior"?
One of my good characters is a minion master, and I can't help but notice that there are three types of animates, and three is a good number to add an elite. Wouldn't it make sense to have an elite "Animate Bone Warrior"? Here are what the stats should be...
______________________________
Animate Bone Warrior:
Casting time: 3
Recharge time: 3
Energy cost: 25
Upkeep: No
Elite Spell:
Animate a level [3..20] Bone Warrior.
______________________________
After all, there are three types of traps and they added an elite (not that they didn't have one before )
This would be pretty cool.
The only problem is we minion masters are already too powerful once we get our army going...
If they added an elite that this they would nerf all animate skills down a lvl.
Now we minion masters can't stand for that!!
Still, let me know what you think of the idea. A lot of people I know think there should be one, except those dirty little trappers who don't want MM's to get a step-up on them
Well, let me know what you think

I would say a long cool down would probably prevent a large army of bone warriors. but i'm sure a N/Mo can keep them alive long enough to have up to 5 of them with veratas sacrifice/blood of the master/healing breeze and orisons...
I would just say add a animate bone hound... (i just love those hellhounds...)

Well, I was thinking that the two levels would evenly compensate for spending 25 energy on a melee bone thing. However, the cooldown thing is cool.
Only one thing you forgot... Arcane Echo. This might be used to echo it...
Still, they would probably end up nerfing it anyway.

I'm guessing you would want there to be only 1 bone warrior at a time... If so then I think it's a cool idea. Wouldn't mind fighting a dead version of myself .

Amen. I can't beat my dopple enough =)
Aye, one at a time, but make it a level 20 with a warriors lifespan and a couple of warrior skills. Like cripple and such.

Well, I was actually thinking of MORE than one bone warrior at a time.
This is MUCH easier than fighting your dopple because:
-No skills
-Less armor
-Decomposes
Besides, with Verata's Gaze you can steal one instead of fighting it...
Seems fair to me, although it would make more sense to make it cost 30 energy, even though 30 is an illegal energy cost in Guild Wars, at least for now. This is because when the amount of energy it takes is stored there are only the possibilities of:
-5 energy
-10 energy
-15 energy
-25 energy
This means that it takes only 2 bits, instead of 5...
Still, the lifespan is no problem. All bone things accelerate their decomposition at the same rate, although I never sat there and figured it out :P
Eventually, they will have 25 health degen, and you wont keep them alive much after that....
Also, there is NO way to make it so you can only have one at once, unless it is a pet similar to that of a ranger, which would be cool but would give necros even more power (they are already superior in my eyes ).
This addition of power would then be nerfed blah blah blah blah.... Its not like there is going to be a big advantage for more than a couple weeks .
Also, you can't do the skills because then they would literally be new members of the group, which is way too much for something that can be summoned at will.
Note: I've seen people in HoH and GvG use teams where EVERYONE uses pets, and they have a bit of an advantage. The only disadvantage is that most build require at least 7 if not all 8 skills to function.
The AI for the skills would also be subject to confusion....
Still, they should do it anyway

Animate bone dragon would be cool
Sacrifice the life of you and nearest teammate to create a lvl 25 bone dragon
Egy 25
Cast time 4
Recharge single use (like res sig)
It'd be cool in PvP if you and a teammate were going down to ball near each other and pull a bone dragon out of yourself. And then basically as necro you're playing the bone dragon but it has only like a 2 minute life.
I'd like to see a possession type skill as well, where you basically possess someone and they transfer to your char and you transfer to theirs for maybe 10 seconds.

how about animate grim reaper: for 20 seconds u summon an invincible monster (that looks like my avatar) with lots of armor and medium damage that fights for u but once it goes u suffer health degen of 3 or something.

Ok- here are a few standard rules any skills would have to obey:
- It can't be invincible.
- It can't have a time limit other than standard degen.
- It can't use skills.
- It can't be 'one at a time'.
- It must use 25 energy because you cannot use more (explained above).
Here are some other things I personally think should go into it:
- It must die at the same rate other bone things do.
- It must not have a long recharge time, this would make no point to the skill and if they made this skill with 20+ seconds to recast I wouldn't equip it!
As far as other mods go, such as really good armor etc, would make this skill too good to escape the eyes of the imfamous ANet nerfers (nerfers is a funny word ).
Thanks for the feedback though, although I'm still open to more...
Oh, one more thing...
It can't make you get health degen, well, not realistically. Think of the sacrifice build. The only sac skill that can kill you is Ether Prodegy, and adding another one will be odd. Also, it would make it rather difficult to work into a MM's skill bar...

That is a pretty good idea. I'm not sure if I would utilize it very often, but then you would try to use something to counter it.....
And would that be possess a random char or a targeted one...
And isn't there already a form of disabling people? There are several conditions that can do it:
- Dazed
- Crippled
- Blind
Interesting? I know in lots of games there are 'stunned' things, but thats really what a mes does anyway.
Only problem... that skill would work better to put the above conditions on for 5 secs, or something like that. I can picture a skill called:
Illusion of Worthlessness
Hehe, that would be a fun one but people would end up finding a way to spam it...
Bleh - bad medicine...
Anyway, thats not a bad idea, although 10 secs is a long time to be able to control someone...
And them controlling your character... unless you didnt take other skills that would be bad news for you
Good ideas here...

since a minion master doesn't need an elite to work, i think they should make the bone fiends more powerfull (lvl 20?), and making them elite.
just my two cents.

I love my necro and all, and I would LOVE to have this from a "dominating class" standpoint, but wouldn't this unbalance the classes somewhat? Personally, I think the minion master is just a tad bit powerful (BUT, not enough that it needs to be tweaked...it doesn't offset class balance tooooo much).
Just my two cents...maybe I'll sign once I see (maybe understand better??) how this will be balanced...

current minions:
meelee: horror, minions
archer: fiend
so... logical thing would be
caster: aprentice?
should be a necro caster:
could use
life syphon, vamp gaze
should have really weak armour though
